August 2015 Pagosa Springs Real Estate Newsletter

Summer is half over. The grass is green, and the monsoon season is here. If you are planning any outdoor activities in August, you’d be best to do them before 2:00 p.m. if you don’t want to get wet. The fire danger is lower than normal this year. The drought we’ve been in has been diminished by a wet spring and summer.

I stopped in and met the new owner of the downtown grocery store. The shelves are going in, and they hope to have the new store open on August 19. The store will be called Hometown Food Market.

County Fair was last weekend. There was food and fun for all. Business-wise, the whole town seems very busy everywhere. All the local businesses are bustling with summer activity.

On the real estate front, sales last month were flat compared to last year. Closed sales in residential properties were the softest. On the plus side, pending sales are all the way up to 113, compared to 78 last year at this time. Speaking for me personally, I have been extremely busy the last two weeks. I expect that next month’s stats should be much stronger.

So much for now! I hope you and your family are having a great summer.
