Wednesday February 29 (Leap Day) is the Education Center’s annual fundraiser luncheon to be held at the Pagosa Lodge beginning at 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. Come and see what steps, new programs and improvements have been made at the Center. Tickets are $50 each and may be purchased at the Education Center at the corner of Lewis and 4th streets or call 264-2835.
The Pagosa PAW dog sled and skijouring races will take place this weekend, February 25 and 26. Hosted by the Pagosa Nordic Club and the Colorado Mountain Mushers, this 2-day event will take place at the beautiful Kuhn Ranch, 8 miles north on N. Pagosa Blvd. There will be various distance and types of races and even a 1-mile course for you to test out with your own dog. For more information, visit the Nordic website.
The Heartbeat Ball benefitting the Pagosa Mountain Hospital will take place at the Pagosa Lodge tomorrow, Saturday, February 25. The festivities begin at 7pm and tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. There will be a live and silent auction, delicious food, a cash bar, and music and dancing. Enjoy an evening out while benefiting one of Pagosa’s fastest growing businesses and larger employers in our community.
Also on Saturday, February 25, Pagosa Brewing Co. will host their annual Mutton Chop Contest with a “fashion” show of all those “chops” that the men have been growing. This hilarious event will give awards for the best natural chops, best enhanced chops, and anything goes chops.
As usual, there will be special beers on tap and to be in-sync with the theme of the month, “Stout & Chops Month”, multiple Stout beers will be featured.
