The community just finished celebrating the “Little Black Dress Affair fundraiser for Seeds of Learning, and now the “older” female generation has a chance to assist the younger female generation — by participating in Archuleta County Victim’s Assistance Prevention’ s “Operation Cinderella” program.
High School girls are invited to come to the Pagosa Springs Youth Center on Wednesday, April 7 from 4-7 p.m. to “shop” for an elegant or fun Prom Dress at no charge. Women in the community are encouraged to clean out their closets and donate gowns, formal dresses, or other sparkly clothing to this program.
You can bring them to the Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program office located on the north side of the Town Hall building at 551 Hot Springs Blvd. Dresses need to be donated by Monday, April 5.
The “Operation Cinderella” program will not only afford our high school youth with some beautiful clothing, it is also designed to bring awareness to the many forms of sexual assault, most often occurring in dating situations.
If you have questions about what to donate or about the “Operation Cinderella” Program, please call Liz Parker at 264-4152 x31. |
